Population Intervention Comparator Outcome (PICO):
Being developed to find the evidence in order to determine if a Recommendation on best practice can be made by the World Health Organization concerning the following topic.
POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME (PCOS)
(P = women of reproductive age – questions may include exclusion or inclusion criteria)
Should WHO develop a recommendation concerning:
- the most effective tool/method to assess risk of Type 2 Diabetes?
- the most effective tool/method to assess depression and anxiety?
- the most effective tool/method to assess disordered eating?
- the most effective tool/method to assess psychosexual dysfunction?
- whether lifestyle interventions (combined compared to minimal or nothing) are effective for improving weight loss, metabolic, reproductive, fertility, quality of life and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- the effectiveness of diet compared to exercise for improving weight loss, metabolic, reproductive, fertility, quality of life and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- whether diet interventions (compared to no diet or different diets) are effective for improving weight loss, metabolic, fertility, and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- the most effective method to deliver dietary information for improving weight loss, quality of life and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- whether exercise interventions (compared to no exercise or different exercises) are effective for improving weight loss, metabolic, reproductive, fertility, quality of life and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions compared to pharmacological interventions (i.e. metformin and clomiphene citrate) for improving fertility, quality of life and emotional wellbeing outcomes?
- whether clomiphene citrate is effective for improving fertility outcomes in PCOS patients?
