Dr Aseel Mugahed

Dr. Aseel Mugahed is an accomplished public health professional with extensive academic and research interests in global health, health systems strengthening, and both communicable and non-communicable diseases. She holds an M.B.B.S. in Medicine and General Surgery, a master’s degree in Global Health from the University of Geneva, and a postgraduate diploma in Public Health with a focus on Tropical Medicine, Surveillance, and Immunization. Her expertise is further enhanced by certifications in Epidemiology and Non-Communicable Diseases in Humanitarian Settings.
Dr. Aseel has extensive experience in health development and improving healthcare access in low-resource and humanitarian settings. She has served as a Public Health Specialist at Action for Development NGO in Geneva, where she monitored and evaluated healthcare projects. During her tenure as an intern at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, she supported portfolio management and country support activities, focusing on improving immunization coverage and equity.
Passionate about health access, Dr. Aseel founded YemAid Healthcare Association in Geneva, leading initiatives to enhance healthcare and health education for vulnerable populations, especially women and girls in Yemen.
Since 2018, she has been a Technical Officer and Coach at the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, contributing to global and public health research and training.
Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Dr. Aseel excels in diverse, multicultural environments. Her commitment to public health drives her to advance research, education, and program implementation, aiming to improve health outcomes globally.
