I am currently an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine University of Khartoum and a consultant of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Soba University Hospital, the only dedicated University Hospital in Sudan. I am a graduate of Khartoum University, with an MD specialization in obstetrics and gynaecology from Sudan.
I am an active participant in postgraduate teaching and an organizer as well as an examiner for the MD in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Sudanese medical specialization board which is currently adopting a new system in training, education and examination for example problem base and OSCE. I am a faculty member of many ongoing courses that are changing and updated regularly to meet the change in community and practise, i.e., Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ALSO), Basic Surgical and Practical Skills and Emergency Obstetrics and Neonatal Care (EmONC).
Soba University Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital for all specialities and subspecialties. With regard to our department we are currently expanding in two directions; feto-maternal medicine and women sexual health and reproductive medicine with emphasis on colposcopy, sexually transmitted infections, family planning and infertility with the backup of our newly opened assisted conception unit at Saad Abuelila University Hospital.
