Dr. Gregory Edie Halle-Ekane recently appointed Vice Dean in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Buea, Cameroon 

Dr. Halle-Ekane Edie Gregory a senior consultant obstetrician/gynecologist at the Douala General Hospital, Douala and the Country’s coordinator for Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) was recently appointed Vice Dean in charge of cooperation and Research in the Faculty of Health sciences, University of Buea, Cameroon by the Higher Education ministerial decision No. 13/0576 of 21st November, 2013. He was installed in his function on 12 th December, 2013.

The Faculty of Health Sciences which was inaugurated in 1994 has 800 students enrolled for the 2013/2014 academic year and trains both Cameroonians and foreigners at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels in the domain of medicine, nursing, medical laboratory sciences, public health and others (www.fhs-ub.com).

The appointment of Dr Halle-Ekane Gregory comes barely a year after he was conferred the responsibility of coordinating the activities of GFMER in Cameroon. During this period, he has been working immensely to make GFMER and its objectives known to his peers and re-dynamize the collaboration that exist among doctors who trained in Switzerland.  By occupying this position and with the possibilities that this post offers, there is no doubt that he will continue to work relentlessly to improve on various aspects of reproductive health both at the national and international level.
