A meeting regarding the selection of medical ceremonies of DDS and awareness of health services provided by Rugahani was held in Jigjiga. Prepared by the office of DDS with support from the Lowlands Health Activity Project, the meeting was attended by health activists from various regions and districts. It was advised that the community should be informed about the health services available to strengthen community participation and promote these services.

The deputy minister of health opened the meeting by explaining that the health office has been working to improve the quality of the health sector through public access to quality health services. The deputy minister also mentioned that local health centers will provide comparable health services to the community and that efforts to enhance different health services will continue.

Finally, the office of health and the cooperative working on health development are collaborating to strengthen community engagement.
