I am Said Shamsul Islam a medical doctor (MD) with master degree in International Health Care Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP) from SDA Bocconi - one of the famous European Universities located in Milan, the Italy.
I am born in Nagrahar in 05/05/1973 and live in Kabul. I am married and have 5 children.
I am a program director for Cordaid in Afghanistan with more than 12 years working experience with various International organizations including the World Health Organization. I have been leading healthcare programs and processes such as strategic programming, policy and strategy development as well as assessments and evaluations. I have the abilities and confidence in managing various projects of different nature and magnitude at the same time. I know - how to translate policies and strategies into the operational plans. I have a good experience of how to monitor and truck the project progress, lead and manage resources including the staff to achieve long term objectives
I am the author of concepts, guidelines, and tools for health projects, article, and blogs. I have written and contributed to several successful BPHS and EPHS proposals for SCA (SHARP) and Cordaid (SEHAT 1 and 2), was the core member of 2010 BPHS revision, of CGHN and many taskforces at the national level. I was member of multi – country research project on Universal Health Coverage commissioned by Cordaid. I was also key member of internal assessment of Cordaid PBF pilot project in Uganda managed by Diocese in Jinja district
I have a representative appearance and have good social skills, able to adapt to different social contexts. I am a result oriented and transparent leader. I like to stimulate and develop skills of professionals towards results aligned to the organizational strategy.
