Dr Hannah Kluckow is a junior medical officer in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District in New South Wales, Australia. Hannah has spent time at the Tupua Tumasese Hospital in Apia, Samoa and has been involved in the Spacim Pikinini family planning project in Papua New Guinea. As a medical student, Hannah was the Master of Ceremonies and Secretary of the Academic Subcommittee for the Australian Medical Students’ Association Global Health Conference 2014. In 2013, she attended the United Nations 58th Commission on the Status of Women as a representative of the Medical Women’s International Association. Hannah has most recently been involved in proposal development and data collection for a University of Sydney run research project ‘Women’s Health and Time Use Study in Honiara, Solomon Islands 2015’, which aimed to estimate the economic cost (including health, policing and legal costs) of gender-based violence in Honiara.
Hannah has a keen interest in maternal and child health and, in particular, in family planning and reduction of gender-based violence in the Pacific region.
