I obtained a B.Sc. in Biology and Chemistry from the Open University of Tanzania in 2003. I am currently doing M.Sc. in Biology at the Open University of Tanzania under a Study Grant from Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH).

I participate as an Assistant Tutor in the teaching of undergraduate programmes in Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Studies. I am also an Assistant coordinator of Science Practicals at our University.

My research interest is in molecular Biology, Genetics, Reproductive Health, Public Health and Developmental Biology. I am also interested in working on the roles of auxin and cytokinin in cell division, plant growth, and cell differentiation using a variety of molecular, genetic, and physiological tools. My other interest is to work on the interspecific transfer of genes and organelles through protoplast fusion, and on the use of electroporation for the introduction of foreign DNA into plants and on homologous recombination in plants.
