Dr Jeff Kambale Mathe was born n the City of Butembo, Eastern DRC. He did his Primary and secondary school in the same city. He completed his Medical Degree in 1989 at the University of Kisangani.
From 1990 to 1996 he worked as a Medical practitioner in a Baptist Mission Hospital in Eastern DRC. In 1991, he was promoted as the Medical Director of the Hospital, and as the District Medical Officer of a rural health district. In 1997 he went to further his studies at the University of Zimbabwe, in Harare where he completed his Specialisation in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in May 2003.
After completed his specialization, he returned back to DRC at the same Mission Hospital he worked before. From 2004 to 2006, he became the Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the hospital.
From 2004, he was appointed Senior Lecturer at a local university (Catholic University of Graben), and Visiting Lecturer to two other Graduate Schools of Nursing, where courses he teaches include Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Health.
From Jan 2007, he was appointed the Emergency Obstetric Care (EmOC) and Blood Safety Programme Coordinator with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), in Sierra Leone, where he implemented the EmOC programme in a rural health district with success (achieved a 42% reduction of maternal deaths). At the same time, he was also a contributor in the IRC GBV programme as a trainer and facilitator for clinical management of rape. At completion of his two-year contract, he returned back to his home country where he opened his Private Practice in 2009.
From January 2010, he was recruited by the Government of Swaziland in the Ministry of Health as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to contribute in their Maternal Health Programme, in an effort to reduce the Maternal Mortality. He is currently the Head of Department of OBS/GYN of the National referral Hospital in the capital Mbabane.
