- Introduction to adolescence and adolescent health: 30 August-3 September
- Evidence-based approaches to sexuality education for adolescents: 6-10 September
- Evidence based approaches to health service provision to adolescents: 13-17 September
- Adolescent pregnancy: 20-25 September
- HIV and young people: 28 September - 2 October
The topics to be covered in the course:
- The meaning of adolescence, the rationale for addressing adolescents, the needs and problems of adolescents, and frameworks for addressing the health and development of adolescents.
- Evidence-based approaches to sexuality education for adolescents.
- Evidence based approaches to health service provision to adolescents.
- Adolescent pregnancy.
- HIV and young people.
Teaching-learning methods to be used in course:
We will address one topic per week. On each topic we will post the following items:
- A set of slides with accompanying talking points.
- Key WHO documents.
- An assignment.
You will be required to read the materials and do the assignment.
You will also have an opportunity to send us your comments and questions, which we will respond to.
Each week we will send you a presentation, along with some key readings. You are required to read the presentation and make a short summary of the key readings and submit it to us at the end of the week. It means you will have a short assignment to do each week.
