Lillian Figg-Franzoi holds an MSc in Defence, Development and Diplomacy from Durham University, educated through the Durham Global Security Institute in the United Kingdom. Between 2009 and 2011, she held various research assistant positions with Marquette University, in Islamic studies, social psychology and gender research, and with the research non-profit, Arab and Muslim Women’s Research and Resource Institute. She has fieldwork and volunteer experience in Jordan and Sri Lanka. She understands contemporary issues at the intersection of security and development and specializes in conflict-sensitivity and conflict analysis. Her previous research has focused on gender and gender rights mainstreaming in conflict intervention and development programming. She currently resides in New York City.
