The Oxford University Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute (OMPHI) in collaboration with Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) has provided health professionals from all over Mexico with a one-day, free training on The evidence-based management of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. The training was developed as an e-learning module by the Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health, University of Oxford and funded by the MacArthur Foundation through EngenderHealth.
On April 21, 80 health professionals including doctors and midwives from Metropolitan and Peripheral Hospitals as well as junior and senior residents of OBGYN from medical colleges such as the Instituto Politécnico Nacional attended the evidence-based management of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia training at the Ángeles del Pedregal hospital, located in Mexico City.
Throughout the event, participants benefited from a steady Internet connection which allowed them to follow the course online, enjoyed a series of coffee breaks, and learnt about latest gynecological treatments and medications. The training lasted the whole day and was followed by 20 multiple-choice questions based on the training module. All participants were presented with certificates jointly signed by the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the University of Oxford and GFMER and Dr Raymundo Canales de la Fuente. Participants gave very positive feedback about the workshop.
