The Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) offers an online training course Mobile Phones for Sexual and Reproductive Health - “MHealth4SRH”. The course is designed for professionals working in the domain of sexual and reproductive health or in information and communication technologies. Preference will be given to applicants who are willing to collaborate with other applicants from their country in order to form teams that prepare the relevant course assignments together.
Objectives
- To describe why and how mHealth is revolutionizing health care in general.
- To provide examples of successful mHealth approaches for sexual and reproductive health - those providing solutions for community members and those empowering health workers and those where mobile devices are used for data collection and transfer.
- To explore the research needs relating to mHealth for sexual and reproductive health and how to respond to these needs.
- To provide a framework for planning for a mHealth initiative on sexual and reproductive health.
Activities
- Course is facilitated by Dr Heli Bathija and includes many guest experts as on-line presenters.
- Six training modules with online lectures, resources and assignments.
- Community of practice with online forums.
- Quizzes.
Duration of course
Six weeks – one module per week - including a study break between 25 March to 1 April.
