The power of maternal nutrition to stop stunting, Kathmandu, Nepal
Emphasis is laid on improving the quality of ANC and Postpartum care to yield positive results. Today, some of the countries in the region are grappling with anaemia the burden as high as 50% indicating a serious public health concern. As such, the member states have pledged to work hard by positioning maternal nutrition in the development agenda. This would involve stewardship, improving nutritional information systems, investments, and fostering multi-sectoral partnership among others. The 2018 regional meeting on maternal nutrition towards "stop stunting" ended on a positive note with participation by all the eight-member states in the region.
