Awareness creation workshop on Sexual and Gender Based Violence, at Arbaminch Town, Gamo Zone, South Region (Ethiopia). The awareness creation workshop was organized by South Nations Nationalities People Regional Health Bureau in collaboration with Engenderhealth.

The rationale behind organizing the event was that, after the evolvement of COVID 19, SGBV was high in the area, in the last 7 months nearly 177 SGBV cases were reported at Arbaminch Hospital One Stop Center out of which 128 are children and adolescents. 92 were rape cases and 36 cases were attempted rape. We organized the workshop to open the eyes of the political leaders, health department leaders, religious leaders and Health Extension (HEWs), and Women, Children and Youth affair bureau.
