International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation takes place February 6 each year. In WHO Headquarters in Geneva the day was commemorated with a panel discussion moderated by the WHO Assistant-Director General, Dr Flavia Bustreo (on the right of the picture). The panelists included representatives of UN organizations and Ambassadors as well as a survivor of FGM, Ms Fatimata Ba-Sow (on the left), who shared her experiences. The participants were staff of WHO and other UN organizations as well as representatives of many diplomatic missions.
