I am 32 years of age, born and raised in the great Republic of Kenya. I am a graduate from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I completed an advanced Epidemiology and Biostatistics training from the University of Nairobi in 2013. Currently I am serving as an HIV and AIDs prevention focal person, a position I have held for the past 2 ½ years. I have been involved in creating appropriate networks and building linkages for key and vulnerable populations and ensuring their services are prioritized in delivering reproductive health services in a refugee set-up. I take pride in pioneering the creation of terms of reference used in implementation of key population programs in a place with very high HIV stigma rates and high fertility rates but discussion of issues of sexuality are considered “haram”.
