I was born on the 29th August 1981; I had my Primary school education from the University of Maiduguri Staff Primary School in Maiduguri, I had my Secondary education from Federal Government College (FGC) Azare in Bauchi State. I then joined the University of Maiduguri where I graduated with a Medical Bachelor, Bachelor Surgery degree (MB, BS) in 2010. During my undergraduate days, I became the pioneer Chairman of a student-based advocacy group on campus; called Action Group on Adolescent Health (AGAH). The group is supervised by the Campaign Against Unwanted Pregnancy (CAUP)- a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which provided support, funding, partnership, collaboration, and capacity building to the student body. I had a certificate in computer graphics from Maxgrade Computer School in Bauchi in the year 2002/2003 during an industrial action in Nigerian Universities. Upon graduation, I had my internship with the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital which later became the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBUTH), Bauchi after which I proceeded for my one year mandatory National Youth Service Scheme at the Medical Centre of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi.
I joined the Family Medicine Department of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi as a Medical Officer where I worked from November 2012 to February 2015. Because of my passion in Preventive, Reproductive, and Public Health I left the services of the Teaching Hospital to join the University Medical Centre as a Medical Officer where I work till date and I joined the University of Roehampton London Online; I am currently taking my Public Health Research Project Proposal Module.
In recognition of my community service, service track record, and dedication, the Bauchi State Government under His Excellency Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar Esq found me worthy of being appointed to serve as a member of the governing council of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA) on February 24 th, 2017.
I am currently the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Bauchi State branch, member of the Continuous Medical Education (CME), and Chairman Community service and Outreach Committee of the Association.
