I was born at Dessei, Wollo, in the north-eastern part of Ethiopia which is a well known place in Ethiopia for accommodating multi cultural and religious differences. I completed my elementary and high schools at Dessei and obtained a diploma in nursing from Gondar University. I had my first and second degrees in public health from the Jimma University. My MPH specialty is in reproductive health.

With regards to my work experience, for about 15 years I have been working in the clinical set up of several governmental and nongovernmental health institutions. During my stay in those institutions, I performed many tasks basically in the area of reproductive health.

Currently I am coordinating a project called “Cervical cancer screening and treatment“ which is implemented by Doctors with Africa – CUAMM in collaboration with the St. Luke Catholic Hospital.

I also have some experience in supervision and data collection, and qualitative and quantitative research methods.
