I am Ibtesam Dwekat; I was born in Palestine on the 9th of February 1976. I graduated from Al-Quds University, Palestine in 1998 with a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSN); I obtained a Diploma in Midwifery from Bethlehem University in 2002, and a Master’s in Maternal and Child Health from Al Quds University in 2010.
After graduating from university - from 1998 to 2007 - I worked in different local health services settings, including hospitals and clinics. I worked as a nurse and midwife, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. Through my work I participated in teaching mothers, families and the community health topics such as family planning, postnatal care, and breastfeeding.
From 2007 to 2012, I worked as a part time clinical instructor at a national university while I continued working in the hospital and the community.
Since 2012, I’ve worked as a full-time lecturer and clinical instructor at Al-Quds University’s Nursing & Midwifery Departments. I teach courses on maternity for nursing, antenatal care, and high risk pregnancy.
