Global Survey on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

In 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Sustainable Development Goals - United Nations Sustainable Development).

Since then a lot has happened. But how satisfied are people with the progress achieved? And what is important to them when it comes to sustainability?

For the first time, these questions are the focus of a worldwide survey called the “Global Survey on Sustainability and the SDGs” – and everyone can participate until at end of March 2019. The survey is available at https://www.globalsurvey-sdgs.com in 16 languages.

The objective of the Global Survey is to reach as many people in the world as possible in order to inquire about people’s personal and professional perspective on the status of sustainability in their country, as well as their knowledge, acceptance and expectations of the SDGs. The Global Survey targets private individuals and representatives of politics, business, academia, the media and civil society both on a national and international level. The aim is to prioritize relevant topics relating to the environment, social issues and the economy in the respective countries and to establish the urgency for action.

The findings are expected to be published in the 2nd quarter of 2019 to UN organizations, national governments, industry associations, academia, and NGOs in order for them to draw conclusions on how to improve in terms of sustainability. The idea is to repeat this exercise regularly to measure progress.

The Global Survey is financed by the German Federal Ministry for the Environmental, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The project is carried out by Schlange and Co. (S&C), a German consultancy for sustainability, and Yale University’s Center for Business and the Environment.

Your participation in the survey will help stimulate and accelerate the process of change toward sustainable development worldwide!  As a health professional you will be specifically interested in SDG 3 “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages“, but please remember that health is an important element in all SDGs!

The survey is brief and will only take 5-10 minutes to complete. To take the Global Survey and learn more about the project, click the link above. Note that when you click on “Take the survey”, there is a possibility to choose language from 16 languages that are currently available.
