I am an Obstetrician and Gynecologist working for the Ministry of Health of Rwanda. I work every day with the aim of improving maternal and child health in Rwanda and in Africa at large.

As a young boy, I dreamed every day to be a medical doctor and all my life was focused on it. I started secondary school in Kinshasa and ended it in Kigali – Rwanda (East Africa) at Lycée de Kigali, where I had the highest grades in biology and chemistry.

In 2001, I started medical studies at NUR, Faculty of Medicine.

In January 2008, my dream becomes true as I finished medical studies.

The dissertation for the completion of undergraduate was a prospective study on “Prevalence of hearing impairment in primary school student of Huye district (Rwanda)”.

In March 2008, I went to work to Ruli district hospital as a general practitioner. This was a good experience to me because it strengthened my practice of medicine and prepared me for a short time to deal with postgraduate studies.

In September 2008, thinks went quickly and I was admitted for postgraduate studies in Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

In July 2012, I finished my postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was among the best. This was of big importance to my career as it helped me improve surgical skills, knowledge in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and aspects that attract my attention are treatment of obstetrical fistula, management of infertility, management of high risk pregnancy, diagnosis and treatment of premalignant and malignant cervical cancer.

During my postgraduate study, I was actively involved in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, and I was codirector of 7 final year medical student dissertation in collaboration with Professor Kakoma Jean Baptiste (Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics and in Public Health and Director of the NUR School of Public Health).
