I, Sendawula Assy Charles, a 29 year old Medical Assistant, wish to express my interest in sexual and reproductive health training. Currently working at St. Stephens Health Centre, Luzira, Uganda
I graduated in 2005 at Medicare Health Professionals College with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health. During the course of my studies, I participated in a scientific research about the influences of maternal attendance for Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV services.
Upon graduation I volunteered as a health worker at a regional nursing home, assisting in conducting health education talks and immunization at the antenatal department. In 2009, I enrolled for short course trainings in HIV/AIDS counseling and use of HAART at Mildmay Training Centre and got an award of certificate.
My duties at work include; medical assessment treatment prescription at outpatients unit, minor surgeries likes male circumcision and supervision of health workers at maternity department. Besides that I am part of the Community Outreach team which is concerned with home visits to Positive Living and Family Planning clients.
