I was born in Turkey. I am graduated from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara in 1984. I had been in Gaziantep for the obligatory services between 1984 and 1987.

Later, I worked in a health centre in Cubuk district and in the province directorate of the capital city, Ankara for 5 year-periods. In 1994, I had been in Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in Epidemiology and Statistics Department for 6 months.

I continued to my postgraduate education in the field of Public Health. I finished my master program in Hacettepe University, Institute of Health Sciences, on Public Health in 1997 and also the PhD program in Hacettepe University, Institute of Health Sciences, on Public Health in 2003. The topic of my PhD thesis was knowledge and attitudes of husbands in Turkey related with family planning and reproductive health.

Between 1997 and 2001, I worked at the Ministry of Health, Mother Child Health and Family Planning General Directorate, Mother Health Division, during the implementation of new reproductive health philosophy under the light of International Conference on Population and Development (Cairo-1994) and adapting to the national health system. I was able to attend the certificate programs “Advances in Family Health Communication Workshop, organized by the Centre for Communication Programs, Johns Hopkins University ,in 28 April-9 May 1997, in Antalya and “Enhancing IPC Skills and IEC Materials Utilization” organized by Johns Hopkins University, in 8-12 June, in Akçakoca.

I attended two semester programme about European Union Basic Training Programme and EU Specialist in International Relations Programme in Ankara University, European Community Research Centre (ATAUM), Ankara, Turkey, between 10/2000 and 7/2001.

I have been working in Marmara University, School of Medicine and Public Health Department since 2001. I had worked also in the Medical Education Department for 2 years. I have some classes both graduate and postgraduate related with sexual and reproductive health, family planning, health education and health promotion.

I have been working time to time as a counsellor for some different in-service training activities of MoH MCHFP Gn Directorate.

I have been working in different NGO’s related with sexual and reproductive health.
