Dirkje Jansen is a program management expert in international development cooperation and public health, with geographic background in Central America, Eastern Europe and Sub-Sahara Africa. I combine a business attitude with social entrepreneurship, working and promoting civil society. I am a generalist in pro-poor development strategies for social challenges and strive for the creation of shared value.

Representing the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) I manage a broad portfolio of programmes which focus on improved health systems in a sound, sustainable and (technologically) innovative manner. I am a subject matter expert in the field of e-health, m-health, health workforce, maternal/newborn and child health including nutrition, and address these issues in a multi-disciplinary perspective with the interest of the end-users at heart. I have extensive experience in fundraising (EU/MoFA), partnership development and business development.
