I am an alumni fellow of the Makerere University School of Public Health – Centers for Disease Control (MakSPH-CDC) HIV/AIDS fellowship program. A Behavioral Scientist with training in Counseling Psychology at masters’ level, Behavior change communication, qualitative and quantitative research methods and HIV/AIDS program Management.

Since 2004, I have been involved in designing, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of health related programs especially in psychosocial support, advocacy and research for Maternal and Child health. In particular, I have been involved in working with families infected with HIV. During my work experience, I developed an even greater passion for the reproductive health issues of women and adolescents with a goal of ensuring that every woman and adolescent has access to friendly reproductive services. My career interest is to advance my ability to effectively and efficiently influence key players in the reproductive health field to avail friendly services to all users that require them and to influence policy formulation at national and international level through dissemination of best practices in the implementation of reproductive health programs. I aspire to enhance my skills to design innovative reproductive health initiatives and interventions that ultimately improve the health indicators of Uganda’s population.

In my role as a Fellow I was responsible for establishing mechanisms for strengthening the HIV/AIDS, Psychosocial and OVC program of MUJHU through strategy development, resource mobilization and implementation management. I developed a Paediatric Psychosocial support curriculum as part of my programmatic activity to strengthen paediatric Psychosocial support. I led the HIV team in preparing periodic plans and budgets in accordance with donor requirements. I ensured that there were appropriate tools for monitoring activity progress and worked with evaluators to ensure that the evaluations were done according to the organisation standards and donor requirements. I was responsible for preparing and submitting reports to the major donors.
