I am Fatoumata Toni Sanou from Burkina Faso. I was born in May 1977. I graduated as a medical doctor in 2004 from the University of Ouagadougou. I have worked at CHU Charles de Gaulles of Ouagadougou for 4 years including the first two years of specialization. I made a DESS in management for health services, option health program at CESAG-Dakar. I worked for two years with Action against hunger before my return to my country at the end of 2015. I am a manager and a good pediatrician. For me, pediatrics is a part of SRH because we can’t separate child health from maternal health. I am particularly interested in neonatal health. I gained interest in SRH very early because I was lucky to be part of the pupils empowered like young organizer for ABBEF school club from 1992 to 1995 in the beginning of the SRH promotion in my country before starting medical studies. In addition to the maternal and neonatal health, the maternal health has repercussion on child health for all ages. The SRH for young and teenagers is a big challenge nowadays and pediatricians must play their role, collaborating with parents.
Currently, Médicos del Mundo implements nutrition and SRH programs in Burkina Faso. I am very occupied by my responsibility but I am glad to take part in this course and I’ll do my best to follow it with success.
