I am a South African by nationality and from Pretoria. I studied in several countries which include, Russia, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Italy among others. I studied leadership in Moscow in Russia and proceeded to study journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism in Ghana. Upon coming back home, I furthered my education by doing a degree in social science at the University of Cape Town. Later on when I was serving in the military I took a break to pursue my studies at Oxford University where I studied diplomacy, courtesy of the Chevening Scholarship.

After leaving active duty in the military, and with the support the Ford International Fellowship I enrolled at the University College, Dublin, where I obtained an MSc in Humanitarian Action. Later on while working for the Department of Foreign Affairs at home I succeeded in obtaining an LLM in International Crime and Justice Degree from the University of Turin. My exposure to a health-related subject which sparked an interest in the field goes back to my days when I was studying humanitarian action and journalism. The training in humanitarian action included epidemiology and during my training in journalism I specialised in population communication which is applied population studies.
