I am a 49year old Family Physician born into a typical polygamous family with 24 siblings, I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1992 after obtaining my Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MB;BS) degree, I began work in 1994 as a Medical Officer for the Bauchi State Government in Nigeria, and later for the Gombe State Ministry of Health, where I served in various capacities as a GP. The work of the GP is ubiquitous spanning the entire gamut of healthcare!

I underwent various trainings; mainly update courses by WHO, UNICEF and the World Bank group, notable amongst which is a Minilaparatomy course under Local Anaesthesia organized by the Association of voluntary surgical contraception (AVSC) to cater for clients wishing voluntary sterilization. I also bagged a PG diploma in Management from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2010, and a certificate in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina organized by Future Learn.

I was the Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Bauchi State Chapter 1995-96, and later, the Secretary of NMA, Gombe State Chapter, 1996-99. I was selected to be the attending physician for the Nigerian National Female Volleyball Team throughout their preparations to the All Africa Games in 1995. I was also the Head of Medical Team that attended to the Gombe State pilgrims during Hajj 1999; I became the personal Physician to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Gombe State from 1999-2004 and became the Project Manager of the World Bank Assisted Malaria Control Project in Gombe State.

At the Malaria Project, we distribute malaria commodities to pregnant women & children among others, and at the Cure-N-care services, I mainly consult clients, proffer counselling services and occasionally partake in outreach programs to rural areas and conduct community dialogues to enhance health promotion.
