My name is Shamsudeen Yau from Kano state, Nigeria. Born in the mid 80s, I had bachelor degree with honor in Biochemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto in 2010 after which I took a fulltime teaching job at secondary school from late 2011 to early 2014. I recently completed my master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Institute for Environmental and Public Health, Cyprus University of Technology. I had been involved in contract jobs at various international organizations such as WHO, Save the Children, Public Health Service Solution and Partnership for Transforming Health System 2 (PATHS2) from 2010 through 2013 where I served in different capacities ranging from Local Government Supervisor for immunization, Independent Monitor, to Data Collection and Evaluation for MNCH programs. Essentially, I am interested in building my research skills so as to make tangible contribution to the society, nationally and internationally in the area of research.
