I am Dr Bukar Mshelia, 33 years old from Borno State, Nigeria. I currently work with FHI360 under the SIDHAS project as the Technical Officer Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in Yobe State, Nigeria.

I have a Degree in Medicine and Surgery (2011) from the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Maiduguri, Borno State. I immediately worked as the Lots Quality Assurance(LQAS) Surveyor for the WHO in Marte and Monguno Local Government Areas in Borno State, in May and July, 2011 respectively.

I did my internship in Federal Medical Center Nguru, Yobe State, Nigeria from September 2011 to September 2012; then served as the Medical/Casualty Officer with the Department of Family Medicine of the same Facility from October 2011 to March 2013.

I then worked as the Medical Officer in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G) of the Muhammed Shuwa Memorial Hospital (Nursing Home), Maiduguri, Borno State from April to June 2013.

I then proceeded to my National Youth Service (NYSC) where I served as the Medical Officer in Garko Cottage Hospital (Garko Primary Health Care Centre), in Garko Local Government Area of Kano State, at the same time spending in my free time as a Community Based Volunteer for the Immunization Plus Days (IPDS) in the same Local Government Area.

I subsequently worked as the Medical Officer Department of O&G Dambatta General Hospital Kano, from July 2014 to March 2015 and as a Medical Officer Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital (FNPH) Maiduguri, Borno State from April to September 2015.

At FHI360, I started work as an Assistant Technical Officer Prevention, Care and Treatment (ATO/PCT)/Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in October 2015, where I worked in the SIDHAS-Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Project providing ART services in all 15 IDP Camps in Maiduguri, Borno State. I then became the Technical Officer M&E, Yobe State in March 2016, the post I currently hold.

I have attended several certificate courses and currently a Member of the Interagency Working Group (IAWG) for Reproductive Health in crises and I manage the Facebook Page Reproductive Health Nigeria (https://web.facebook.com/reproducenaija/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel), I call upon you to like and comment on the page as we help empower people with the right information.

I am currently concluding a Postgraduate Diploma(PGD) in HIV/AIDS Education and Management with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
