Carolina Buitrago was born on the 5th of July 1985. She graduated from medical school at the National University of Colombia in 2009. She did her clinical practice in rural areas of her country, mainly in obstetrics and in-patient services. In 2013 she enrolled in the Master’s program of International Health of the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health of Charite Berlin, developing her thesis at the University Khon Kaen in Thailand about adolescent pregnancy. She is very interested in the global impact of sexual and reproductive rights and health.
